About Us

Welcome to Manor House Farm Cottages

We are a small family run business, established in 1979. Originally the market for our self-catering accommodation was for a basic unit with simple furnishings. However, we have progressed a long way since those days, and now offer some of the highest quality accommodation in the area.

We have recently completely refurbished the whole site to a very high standard, and incorporated a sauna shower and jacuzzi suite, as well as two hot tubs, one inside and one out. We also have a fitness gym, pool room, (also a small pool table for children) and a games room with table tennis, a dart board (bring your own darts) and table football.

Outside there is ample parking and extensive seating and viewing areas for relaxing, BBQ, and out door games.

Situated in the Esk Valley, Manor House Farm Cottages is a family run business offering an excellent base from which you can explore the many attractions the area has to offer, such as the North York Moors National Park and the Heritage Coast. This stunning area not only offers some of the finest views in Yorkshire but also acts as a setting for Heartbeat and the famous North York Moors steam Railway, which runs from Grosmont to Pickering. Whitby itself is just 4 miles away providing a rich source of heritage and beauty right on your doorstep. The history of Whitby Abbey, the fishing harbour, Dracula, and most famously Captain Cook, will keep the most inquisitive mind happy, with plenty of attractions for the children throughout this busy town.

Further a field more treasures can be found, such as the coastal villages of Robin Hood's Bay, Runswick and Port Mulgrave and further inland you will find the market towns of Pickering, Malton, Helmsley and Guisborough within easy reach by car. Also visitor attractions such as Castle Howard, Flamingo Land, Eden camp and Hartlepool Marina are just a short journey away, whilst a trip to Middlesbrough by train will take you on one of the most scenic railways in the country.

Manor House Farm Cottages are ideally placed to explore this most inspiring of areas whilst allowing you to relax amidst spectacular landscapes and countryside.

Our cottages are housed in original stone buildings, maintaining a very local appearance and character. This theme is continued on the inside, where traditional styles are complimented by modern fixtures and fittings to give a warm and homely feel. On site laundry and drying facilities and ample parking, generous lawns and sitting areas with fantastic views across the Esk valley.

Wonderful Views

The properties are all part of the original Manor House Farmhouse built in 1697 and are situated on the outskirts of the village of Sleights, with stunning views across the Esk valley towards Aislaby. All the Cottages are located adjacent to a working farm but are totally separate from it, providing excellent privacy, ample parking and generous gardens. The Plough Inn is within walking distance and being just 4 miles from Whitby and 2 miles from the North York Moors Railway both offer an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful and fascinating area.
